Local Regularity for the Harmonic Map and Yang–Mills Heat Flows

Abstract We establish new local regularity results for the harmonic map and Yang–Mills heat flows on Riemannian manifolds of dimension greater than 2 4, respectively, obtaining criteria smooth extensibility these flows. As a corollary, we obtain characterisations singularity formation use this to estimate Hausdorff measure singular sets at first time. Finally, show that blow-ups rapidly forming singularities are necessarily nontrivial admit positive lower bound their ball energies. These crucially depend some monotonicity formulæ recently established by Ecker (Calc Var Partial Differ Equ 23(1):67–81, 2005) Afuni 555(1):1–14, 2016; Adv Calc 12(2):135–156, 2019).
